Mestawot Ketema - UPG Champion
Mestawot is a market systems development and climate advisor from Ethiopia, dedicated to building sustainable communities through civic engagement, climate education, sustainable leadership, and community dialogue.
With extensive experience as a trainer and facilitator in Eastern Africa, she has led complex market systems development and environmental programs. Her projects have notably impacted the lives of 242,000 disadvantaged youth and women. A COP 27 delegate and member of the American Evaluation Association (AEA), YOUNGO, and the East African Pastoralist Forum, Mestawot is committed to sustainable development, particularly in empowering women and youth.
She completed a 13-week climate change training program sponsored by Oxford Zero and is a UPG Champion & a UPG Sustainability Leader. Beyond her professional work, she is an activist and advocate for gender and climate justice.
