Shova Khanal - UPG Champion
Shova Khanal is a passionate tour guide from Nepal, a country nestled in the Himalayas, dedicated to promoting her nation’s rich cultural, natural, and historical heritage. With a master’s degree in tourism and journalism, Shova combines her deep knowledge of tourism and media to enhance visitor experiences and showcase Nepal’s unique offerings. She earned recognition as one of Nepal’s Top 7 Debaters in 2012 and has served as a council member with the United States Youth Council Nepal.
Shova’s commitment to youth engagement and sustainable development is evident through her involvement with various organizations. She is a rising star at Wedu, a women’s organization based in Thailand, and has participated in prestigious events such as the Asian Women Leadership Summit in Singapore (April 2018), the Asia World Model United Nations in Bangkok (February 2019), and the UNESCO Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED in South Korea (2019). Additionally, Shova holds roles as a Global Peace Ambassador with Global Peace Initiatives and a Youth Ambassador for the International Global Network.
Currently, Shova is leading the Green Neighborhoods Initiative, a community-driven project aimed at transforming local neighborhoods into environmentally sustainable hubs. This initiative involves collaboration with residents, local organizations, and authorities to promote sustainable living practices and address pressing environmental needs.
