Our company provides two novel products in order to make green energy more accessible to customers. 1) We manufacture solar PV window blinds that are easy to install/remove making them accessible to tenants and sectional title properties where space, freedom and ownership is often a barrier to installing a solar system. 2) We are developing a web-based API and platform that allows customers to complete an easy, visual and data-driven energy assessment and then links them to products and suppliers that are able to meet their energy needs.

There are currently 3.7 million out of a total of 17.2 million households in South Africa that are occupied by tenants. There are also more than 450 sectional title schemes that house over 100 families each on average, in addition to multiple rural areas that lack electricity grid infrastructure. Our solar PV product has the potential to serve these customer segments as well as international markets by providing a unique turn-key product that holds multiple advantages over roof/ground mounted solar panels. Our web-based energy assessment and referral platform also has the potential to support other businesses within the industry by generating quality sales leads and connecting customers to reputable retailers and service providers in their local areas, allowing them to determine costs before deciding on transitioning. Cherished Kidz gives working parents peace of mind by providing the safest, most reliable and responsible child transportation services, where children transported by us are treated with utmost care and protection. We send notifications to parents when children have been picked up and dropped off between home and school. The selection of the business name “Cherished Kidz” was a strategic decision. To “cherish” means to protect and care for someone lovingly. This comes from a deep understanding of how our potential clients feel about their children. This communicates to parents that in our care, their children will be treated with the same level of loving care and protection as they would in care of their parents.

Currently at piloting stage, Cherished Kidz owns one seven seater vehicle, employs one female driver and currently sends notifications to parents using whatsapp messaging system. Our current customers live in Gaborone, with children going to primary schools in central Gaborone.

I am cultivating one acre of Small Scale Commercial Organic African Bird Eye Chill farming which is at Tangeni Village, Morogoro, Tanzania along the Uluguru Nature Forest Reserve (Uluguru Block Mountain)
Commercial Organic Chill farming is done Organically, and it employs 5 people including 3 women and 2 youth who have been engaged starting from the farm preparations, seedbed preparations (usually takes up to five weeks), boosters and fertilizers application, weeding, harvesting and all the necessary farm operations management activities.

The people i have employed are the ones living near the farm community, and i decided to employ them since they are very familiar with the environment and the communities surrounding my farm.

The market of chill produce is usually Asian Countries in which before i started cultivating i looked for the buyer and signed contract with them who is Datta Drip Irrigation Company who buys my produce directly fromthe farm in order to avoid post harvest losses.

It usually takes up to five months before harvesting, and every month in one acre of Chill farm it may produce from 120 to 170 kg, in which the buyer buys 1 kg chillproduce by 2.6 USD which is 6,000/= Tanzanian Shillings and when we start harvesting we do it conservatively six months every month, and then we leave for seed reflowering before another harvesting.

Organic African bird eye chill farming is 3 years harvested produce which does not pose threat to
the environment rather than conserving by maintaining long term soil fertility, soil biological
activity, enhancing biological diversity within the whole system, recycle wastes of plant and
animal origin in order to return nutrients thus minimizing the use of non-renewable resources rather than synthetic pesticideswhich when misused, are known to kill beneficial organisms, cause pest resistance and often pollute water and land
(Organically Food Produce of the Codex, 2007).

My farm supports the surrounding community members since it acts as a demonstration farm,in which other villagers get a chance to learn practicality about how to practice sustainable Organic Chill farming, and i am happyone group of eight women were able to cultivate one acre of Organic Chill farming themselves that makes them to get their basic needs.

Organic Chill farming is cultivated at Tangeni Village,Morogoro Tanzania along the Uluguru Nature Forest Reserve
I produce dried chill produce and the market of Chill produce is usually Asian countries that uses chill for different uses such as pickles, curry powder making , sauces and other uses in which before I started cultivating i looked for the buyer and signed contract with the Datta Drip Irrigation Company who buys my produce directly from the farm in order to avoid post harvest losses
In my one acre, i have employed five people (3women, 2 male youth).
Organic Chill farming is a three year harvested produce, and it takes to harvest up to 170 kg per month during harvesting.

We provide a legitimate channel for artisanal and small scale miners to carry out their trade and exert their skills in the mining industry. We do this by providing registered mining claims -acquired through the government of Zimbabwe-to individuals that are interested in or have the talent and capacity to carry out mining activities. Miners without resources but with the necessary expertise are put on a waiting list until the association is ready to allocate resources towards these miners in order for them to begin working. This process has an indefinite period currently. Miners produce gold which is processed through processing equipment provided by the association. This gold is sold off to legal buyers in Zimbabwe i.e Fidelity Printers and Refiners and the proceeds are handed back to the miners after deducting the expenses incurred by the miners throughout the entire process, a handling fee of 30% is also withheld by the association in order to facilitate a 10% mandatory donation towards charitable organizations and community development. Another 10% is saved towards rehabilitating the land that the miners use and the last 10% goes towards securing training and rehabilitation seminars for our miners.

Currently the association supports just over 100 artisanal miners, down from a peak of 300 miners across two provinces (Manicaland and Midlands) during the years 2019-2020. During the period 2020- until now we scaled down operations in order to acquire more resources and reduce pressure on the available resources and mining claims at the time. This initiative has seen the association acquiring just over 400 hectares in mining concessions, now ready and available to begin mining and exploration works. These mining concessions are situated across three provinces in Zimbabwe i.e Manicaland, Mashonaland and Midlands. We anticipate to have a capacity of 1000 miners being supported through our initiative by end of 2023. We also anticipate to increase our mining concessions to 800 hectares during the same year.

More and more people now want to start eating healthy as the pandemic has shifted their mindset on being health conscious. Now more than ever, people are joining the gyms to either lose weight, gain muscle or simply keep fit. But what they do not know is that their daily diet affects them negatively from not achieving their gym goals. My idea is to develop an online e-commerce site that allows people who are starting or ending their gym sessions to order and pay for readymade healthy meals and drinks to be delivered to them at the gyms. In addition, we also intend to have a monthly subscription model to deliver weekly healthy lunch & dinner meals and drinks to household’s individuals and people at their work place. The e-commerce site focuses on people who want to start eating and drink healthy foodstuffs with a variety of packaged product ranges to choose from on a weekly basis. We intend to partner up with a local eco-friendly delivering company called E-Bikes for all our deliveries to contribute positively to our environment. Our business model is to charge per meal, drink and delivery which clients will pay with their debit/credit card online. With the monthly subscription model, payment will be deducted directly from the client’s bank account.

In our first year which will be this year, we intend to launch our fideats e-commerce platform in the capital city of Namibia which is Windhoek that has a total population of 446,000 people. If I had to break down our right total Addressable/Available Market for our business idea, we have 14 registered gyms in Windhoek. We have nucleus health & fitness gym with 510 members, Genesis fitness Namibia with 2034 members, Virgin active kleine kuppe + Maerua mall with more than 16,000 members, Trinity fitness with 258 members, Iron house gym with 305 members, Green zone health + fitness gym 181 members, body 20 with 4623 members, aqua swimming + fitness club 609 members, crossfit Windhoek with 1042 members, Venus ladies gym & health centre 6191 members, pulse perfectfit studio 496 members, Powerflex gym Namibia has 463 members and lastly ac boxing + fitness gym with 60 members that makes our total gym addressable market at 32,772. With the monthly subscription addressable market, Windhoek has households totalling to 112 305 and from this, 41,900 are informal housing structures. We will only be targeting urban households because of delivery issues and crime in rural areas. Our TAM for household’s subscriptions is (total households 112,305 – informal households 41,900 = 70,405 households). The subscription for delivery at workplaces, there is no available data that quantifies how many employees are employed in Windhoek. To give a great market segmentation with our work delivery subscription, it would be mostly government employees and big private companies employees.

Since official launch last month, we have 875 active users and just got our first corporate client (a private primary and secondary school) that will be licensing our product and paying a monthly subscription fee to us for a year. According to the Namibia Fifteenth school report 2019, there were 500,075 primary and secondary school learners (grades 4 - 11). Our target in our first year is just 5% of that market which translate to 25,004 learners while we have 1,723 primary and secondary schools, 119 of them private and 1,604 governmental. Next year we aim for bigger markets, e.g. South Africa has 13 million + primary and secondary school learners, 5% of that market translate to 650,000 learners. In addition, 20,000 primary schools and 6000 secondary schools.

Gysha Farm is an agro-pastoral enterprise, we are in the poultry sector where we produce broilers, we are also in the beekeeping sector where we produce and package honey and since December 2021 we also stabilize and package palm wine under the brand Libondo. A broiler chicken is sold at 7$, a kilogram of honey at 10$ because honey is measured in kg and a box of 24 pieces of Libondo palm wine at 30$.

Our customers are mainly the inhabitants of the city of Goma and its surroundings but also the neighboring provinces request our services because in almost all the provinces of the DRC there is on the market only broilers imported from Brazil. So the customers in search of healthy chickens without preservatives contact us from far away to be served. We present our customers without counting those of the outside of the city: the hotels (15), the restaurants (13), the super markets (6) as well as more than fifty households of Goma which we deliver to residence the whole chickens or in cuts according to the order.

According to Statista’s latest reviews in 2020, Tanzania has over 5,143 secondary schools. Out of these schools, 1,280 schools are private schools while 3,863 are government schools. With the increase of students enrolling in secondary schools from more than 18,000 primary schools, this number is expected to increase in the coming few years as predicted by experts and smartDarasa is at the forefront in capturing this market.

Also, Tanzania has more than 12 million primary & secondary students each year with over 3 million serviceable markets. Targeting only about 5% of the market makes smartDarasa have at least 150,000 paying usersannually. The customer lifespan of one user that has started using smartDarasa in class one has a total of 14 years until the student has completed his/her secondary education.

We expect to have our smartDarasa B2B software to be installed in over 1,000 devices across schools starting June 2022. With a pre-market research assumption of 40,000/= Tanzanian shillings or $17.28 for subscriptionper device a year, we stand to make a minimum annual revenue of 40,000,000 Tanzanian shillings or $17,278.62.

M-TETO Search Engine is a mobile educational technology/application that uses Law, Artificial Intelligence and Gamification to prevent and adequately respond to incidences of SRGBV and the consequences, thereof.
M-TETO is an evidenced-based intervention that addresses the 4 core enablers of SRGBV mentioned above; and centralises the entire SRGBV justice ecosystem. It includes the following functionalities:
1. A bespoke search engine which enables End-Users to:
• Address SRGBV through education in law, human rights, equity, intersectionality, economic and public health-related content.
• Simplify the process of obtaining the support and assistance required by freely providing all necessary information, resources, process and access.
• Empower victims, potential victims and bystanders to tackle SRGBV.
• Hold critical institutions in the process accountable.
2. Safe artificial intelligence driven big-data mapping and visualisation which enables stakeholders (customers) to safely aggregate insights in line with international and regional standards. This empowers stakeholders (customers) to safely:
• Access anonymous disaggregated data on service provider performance.
• Access anonymous disaggregated data on end-users perceptions and behaviours.
• Access a concentrated audience of children and youth who are at risk and inaccessible.
• Implement effective and appropriate interventions to prevent and respond to SRGBV.
3. Expert and Specialised Consulting and Advisory
• Consulting and advisory on issues related to SRGBV will be offered.
• Customised data and analysed data will incur a fee, frequent data reports can also be developed along with dashboards and customised reporting and metrics for consumption by clients will also incur a fee.
4. License Agreements
• A public private partnership or a Social Impact Bond with government and other partners would be an ideal arrangement where all aspects of the monitoring and evaluation of the justice value chain for SRGBV issues is concerned.

M-TETO has potential scale across the globe because this is a global crisis and young people are the largest group using cell phones and their software applications both within and outside of the educational context.
However, we are currently piloting and preparing for launching within South Africa in early 2023. Thereafter, we shall be looking to scale across Africa, in mid-2023. Thereafter, we shall be looking to scale in other regions outside of Africa. We have very good relations with stakeholders and customers that have show an interest from the United Kingdom; as well as the United States and India.
South Africa has 25 000 schools (23 000 public and 2 000 private).
There are 12 Million school-going children within this ecosystem.
4 out of 5, or 81%, of secondary school students in South Africa own or have access to a mobile phone.
If we take into account the high rates of dropout from schools across the country, then this would means that there are approximate 4.5 million secondary education students. Of the students in secondary education, 3.6 Million students have access to mobile devices (either provided to them by the education system or their parents/guardians).
This number is set to increase as the South African government is working diligently to ensure that all South African schools are digitised. This means that there are future prospects of growth for this geographical market alone.
The goal is to roll out across South Africa's main provincial economic hub called Gauteng, which has the highest mobile device penetration in the entire country and nearly 6000 schools and nearly 2 Million students.

Our innovation is a hybrid system of solar & wind mill systems that is used to supply water through farm irrigation solutions and rural electricity to farming communities. This system is design to help farmers who are growing seasonal plants to have access to 365 days a year’s access to water supply for the plants and access to electricity to enable them operate processing and machinery to further enable them increase on production, We also see that our electricity supply systems will enable farming communities to connect to each other as with electricity they can use internet, phones and other communicating devices that can help them communicate with other in far reached communities.

Over the past years we have been able to develop our solution from a prototype to a Minimum Valuable Product that have been test and piloted in over three small and isolated rural communities, the hybrid power system is appropriate to be used in small and isolated communities and bring electricity to these communities. We have used our initiative to empower rural communities’ through rural electrification and farm irrigation solution that help to increase food production and help these communities to be more self-sufficient, we have been able to reduce or replace the use of fossil fuel generator to windmill and solar solutions that produce no greenhouse gas.
Our solution have been adopted by the ministry of energy to be a suitable solution to the energy challenge, there is huge potential for it to be replicated in more rural communities

With the current area with grown, the business has been struggling to meet the market demand. Therefore I have acquired a 4ha farm to expand the business as way to offer flowers in a bigger scale. As advice from state agencies such as Department of Forestry, their input was for the company to expand more as flower growers are way low. The business is already licensed.

Currently the business is facing the following
-limited space for grown
-the drip system that is used will not be enough for the expansion
-not meeting customer needs in relation to consistent supply of flowers
-equipment to run the business as they are in short

A2Z2

The company has a successive milestone journey, it is fully registered with country’s Cooperate Commission Affairs and have technical personnel’s to deliver the objectives of the company.
The company biggest opportunity is the introduction of a new product which is the Aqua Green Feed. local fish feed availability in Sierra Leone has been a crippling factor that has dented the growth potential of Aquaculture over decades, with our intervention as a start up company who have the right team set to deliver, we have successfully develop our first prototype that has been tested and currently under review from scientific advices to get the final MVP. This product when launched in the fish farm industry of Sierra Leone will attract lot of investment in Aquaculture since fish feed unavailability locally has been the stumbling block holding lot of people to getting involved in fish farming in Sierra Leone, thinking of the switching cost on importation.
The other big opportunity the company holds is to get a license from the National Standard Bureau to certify the qualityof our fish feed product as a new product, this this will be the first locally made fish feed product that have gotten national recognition.
This product will also attract foreign investment and international market into the subregions for potential supply to their fish farming community.

The challenges the business is facing include the following below:
1. The business has challenge in getting the right machinery set to produce the actual MVP (for the fish feed product).

2. The other challenge is in maintaining staffs since it’s not generating too much as a startup to pay as expected.

3. The other challenge is in securing a good space where water availability is perennial for the culture of the fish.

4. Another current challenge attached to the 3 above is water sourcing problem as a result of lack of well dug borehole.

4. We also have challenge in getting a good brand for our products.

5. Another challenge our business is facing is the lack of a hatchery structure/unit where we can easily propagate our fish through breedingfor large scale stocking and fish fries production that can equally attract new market.

6. We also have challenge in transport mechanism of our fish products to the markets, no vehicle to ease the burden.

7. Lastly, storage systems for our fresh fish products eg freezer is also not available at the moment, thus pose a challenging in our post harvest activities.

A3Z3

The next big opportunity for us is to launch our minimum viable product and initiate our go to market strategy. We have devised a framework we call players where we identified main actors in the playing field. We were able to distill and qualify early our decision making units from the reviews we conducted. Our main actors include government workers, club goers, church goers, college students, corporate workers, general workers (major shops), tourists, private taxi operators among others. The criteria we used for these early potential customers was that the customer size fits our solution, customer agreed our pricing model and we validated that we will solve customer points efficiently. We are going to focus on building networks and relationships with local municipalities, hospitals, local media and focus on driver development. Our primary engine of growth is viral and through partnership we are likely to be the talk of the town. In turn this will make us more referenceable and once we incentivize our referrals we will promote repeatability and eliminate churn. Therefore for cost saving purposes we will utilize more inbound than outbound strategies though we will mix both to get leads out of the top and bottom of our sales funnel. We will support this engine of growth by paid up ads through our social media channels which will accelerate our sales cycle. Measuring results at each stage of sales cycle from awareness to purchase. Therefore if I receive the Diamond do good grant my team will be able to shorten the sales cycle, get revenue and traction early. At the same time maintaining low customer acquisition cost.

The challenge that Timo is facing is lack of fund the launch of our minimum viable product. This will require us to cover some technical set up costs. Moreso, Timo lacks funds to initiate our go to market strategy as we seek to find our minimum viable segment. This will require some sales and marketing costs as well as human resource costs. Our next challenge will then be implementation as we seek to secure minimum viable segment. We have validated that there is a critical need and our prediction is that we will establish MVS within six months of launch.

A4Z4

We have received grant funding to assist us in developing a market ready version of our product. The next big step is to obtain the required certifications (SABS and RoHs) in order to introduce this product to the market. Our timeline to have this completed is December 2022. We also hope to raise funds to purchase specialised manufacturing equipment which will allow us to in-source the fabrication of many of our product components thus reducing production costs and creating more permanent jobs within our company.

One of our greatest challenges is obtaining capital funding for infrastructure and equipment in order to set up a multidisciplinary team to achieve our various business goals. Our team is in need of marketing, sales, legal and technical support and have had to outsource many of these roles as we do not have the premises and equipment required to employ and support such a team full-time.

A5Z5

We have an opportunity of introducing a totally new schooling system in our area since we are currently the only ones providing these services. We have a chance of also expanding to other areas as we continue working on realizing the sustainable development goal which talks about delivering quality education.

Since we do not have a place of operation (office) we are at times faced with a challenge of getting to our clients when the weather is unfavorable because we do not have designated transport to execute our business deliveries.
We are faced with a challenge of educating our potential clients about what our services are since they tend to think we are just like any other school.

A6Z6

The next big opportunity for us to upload more products on our platform then market our application. We have booked in 2000 smmes who we will allow to upload a maximum of 20 products. Thereafter we will aggressively market the app and improve our traction.

Our challenge is marketing and technical expansion funds. If we fund our marketing plan it will then allow us to to reach wider audience so that our app will get to be known by many people.

A7Z7

Our next big step is to launch a saving service for our clients. Most of our clients doesn't have a bank account which make savings for them either hard or unsafe.

Our business challenge is to increase our operating capital to $30,000 in order to maintain our central bank issued microfinance permit. Tanzania government has enacted a new Microfinance Act which has an interest rate celling on our loan services making it impossible to operate with our current capital.

A8Z8

There is a ban of vegetable importation in Botswana because our government made the decision that local farmers must focus in the production of vegetables, so this industry presents a lot of opportunity for us local farmers.

-Lack of funds for expansion of the business.

A9Z9

In order to officially launch Cherished Kidz as a child transportation business, we are required by law to acquire a Call Cab Permit (license) with the Department of Road Transport and Safety. To apply for this permit, we need to have a minimum of 4 vehicles. Our next big step is to purchase additional 3 used seven seater vehicles so that we can apply for the permit.

The development of our mobile application will give us a competitive urge over our competitors and allow us to scale quicker by on-boarding other drivers who are not directly employed by us but are able to meet our standards.

The number one challenge that we face is that the industry has a high barrier to entry- we need a minimum of 4 vehicles to be able to acquire the permit/license to officially operate a transportation business in Botswana.

The second challenge is that fuel prices in Botswana have been increasing frequently and unpredictably in the last 18 months. This has taken from our profit margins as our customers pay in advance througha subscription model and causing challenges with pricing of our services.

B1Z10

Erba farm is now looking to add value into their value chain by increasing the shelf-life of their produce through drying their herbs. Our produce will then be diversified in two ways, the fresh range and the dry range. The dry range will enable us to then explore the export market and make Erba farm international. Our expansion will enable us to have enough capacity for the international market.

Erba farm has the challenge of securing funds to expand. We have the goal to be able to supply off-season herbs but this can only be achieved if we had greenhouses for our winter months. The greenhouses would also protect our produce against harsh weather conditions like extreme heat, storms and hail weather. This would then reduce one of the biggest risks that farmers generally have. Currently, our contribution to our expansion is at $15000, but we need more for our infrastructure.

B2Z11

We have so far registered the company, secured a warehouse lease and a license our next big step would be to setup our water processing laboratory and start production.

The next challenge faced by the business idea is to raise enough capital to setup the water processing laboratory.

B3Z12

We would like to have access to a truck that will allow us to transport our machine so we can attend events in other cities and countries. So far we have been invited as far as Zambia to participate in food festivals but we cannot go because of transport issues.

One of our biggest challenges is temperature. Because it is a frozen food we need to either maintain it’s temperature which mean getting a refrigerator truck to transport our product or we transport our machine to wherever we are going and make the products there. We still need to store them during the event so we need to have storage that can maintain the negative temperatures consistently.

B4Z13

The next BIG STEP for the idea would be the following:
- To register the company with Companies and Intellectual Property Authority in Botswana (CIPA)
- To open a bank account
- Register with the Botswana Unified Revenue Services (BURS)
- Appoint a Custodian
- Appoint a Company Secretary
- Apply to license the investment company with the Non- Bank Financial Institution Regulatory
Authority
- Register with the Botswana Accountancy Oversight Authority

Challenges the Business idea would face include the following:
- Making sure that we have enough funds to secure an office location where the office is going to be operating from while also taking careof costs that are associated with setting up the business.
- Resistance from the market as this will be a new entrant and we would have to establish our own foot print in the market.

B5Z14

The next big opportunity is to develop an e-learning platform that will integrate gamification and allow fun learning of financial lietracy and business concepts from an early age. We hope to run this platform in both private and Government schools.

The main challenge is market penetration. The concept is quite new and some clients are not yet open to paying for education especially that in Botswana education is provided for free by Government. But we have a strategy ro run at a loss currently ro build the brand and trust. The next big challenge will be capital to finance our new developments, television/social media content production for financial education for children and for the development of an e-learning platform.

B6Z15

The next big and greatest step of my business idea is for it to be register and recognise in my country Sierra Leone. since Gari is a food loved by non Sierra Leone's like Nigerians, I will aspire for my food product to be exported to other countries like Guinea, Liberia, Nigerian etc

My proposed challenge is rice sellers not liking the idea of their customers choosing gari over rice

B7Z16

To expand our business to other regions in Tanzania such as Njombe, Iringa and Singida
To build a big Health centre in Tanzania2023
To expand our business to Kenya and Rwanda by 2024
To develop an app

Technology challenge
This is a big challenge to our business we need to involve technology such as developing an App that can help pregnant women and children to solve their health problems.

Finance Challenge
Struggling to raise capital by applying for financial support from different organizations and programs with the same objectives of helping pregnant women and children under five ages to reducethe number of death caused by anaemia and Malnutrition.

Connection challenge
Struggling to have partnerships with organizations that work with the community in health services such as UPG Biashara, save the childrenWorld health organization.

B8Z17

My next big step is to expand hectares of land for farming from 10 hectares to 250 hectares and purchase more equipped rice processing machinery (Milling machine, grain drying machine etc)- which aims to increase the demand of rice in Bombali District by adding value to rice production and creating more competition in the market for both farmers’ women and youth. Currently 100 women and youth farmers are being grouped into corporative farmers association, we wish to enroll more women and youth, distributors and agents, expand from 200 sacks to 1000 sacks per day, if we successfully receive the funding.

Some of the challenges my business is facing are as follows- lack of funding, lack of highly equipped rice processing machinery (Milling machine, grain drying machine etc) and other sophisticated farming equipment, mobility (vehicle for for the purpose of transporting and distributing the product), other resources (fertilizers, seedlings etc), COVID-19 among many

B9Z18

The next big step is to rent out a salon space where we will be selling our products and offering all the hair styling and treatments as we are currently working from home and also hire more people and train them. We are also looking listing our products and exporting some of them, to show the passion and drive we are currently enrolled with Future Females Business School in collaboration Trade Forward Southern Africa doing Export Trade Training. Other opportunities we are looking into is launching new products looking at the problems our clients have.

Challenges we are facing currently is that of insufficient funds to buy machinery, packaging materials and ingredients to produce more of our products and meet demand. My sister (who is also my business partner) and i funded ourselves because we did not want to be limited or stopped by anything to start our passion. Burnout and Fatigue as we do everything ourselves and do not have enough money to pay employees. Taxes we pay at the border and transportation fees as we buy most of our ingredients from South Africa, as a startup this fees really cripples us.

C1Z19

Our big steps include: registering our business as we are still selling using words of mouth, social media marketing to friends, sustain a reliable supply chain and consistently high quality product. Will buy some machery for refining and packaging.Set up sales teams.Source more honey from beekeepers.

We have limited resources to buy machinery to refine our honey and improve the packaging and supply chain. we face delay in delivery because of poor road infrastructure in DRC. To face this we would like to set up appropirate storage facility that will help to avoid stock shortage. Another challenge or risk is the decline of worldwide bee population due to the use of pesticides as well as climate change. We also face competition.

C2Z20

Recently our government just imposed a restriction on import of school uniform which means local schools can only be supplied by local garment manufacturers. We have secured 3 more schools to supply with school uniforms from January. with a total of about 400 government school this opportunity could increase our market share. We have also enrolled in the export development facilitated by the USAID in partnership with Government. this initiative is to prepare our business to export through the African Growth and opportunity Act (AGOA) by January 2023. Moreover we are looking to also explore the African market through the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA)

With the high increase in demand in our products we have noted that we should be in a position to meet the demand on time, with the right quality and with competitive pricing. this requires a capacity building especially on machines that we are currently outsourcing. this will require funds to procure such machinery. it has been difficult to get funding due to the interest rates and requirements for collateral which hinder us as a small company to access funding. out sourcing machines results in our production costs being high and being uncompetitive in pricing. this also leads to delays in completing order due to the work delaying at our subcontractors hands. this also sometimes may result in compromise of quality of our products.

C3Z21

Opportunities for Organic Chill farming is as follows; High in demand, and high investment production is required, the price of Chill produce is stable as one kg is purchased up to USD 3 , availability of enough land and man power in Tangeni Village for higher investment purposes. And the National policies and laws allow Small scale farmers to access the International market
But also i plan to register an Organic Agricultural Company by the end of 2022 so that many people will be employed and get the chance to improve their livelihood

Setbacks in my one acre farm of Organic Chill farming is; lack of irrigation system to facilitate irrigation activities even during the short rainfall as a result of climate change effect, lack of solar dryer to avoid post harvest losses and reduce cost of carrying the produce from one place to another in order to be dried, lack of storage facilities in my farm, but also lack of enough capital for farm inputs including more land for expansions, seeds, organic pesticides and manures, bird chasers and boosters and for labour charges

C4Z22

Economic: 50 youth’s employment for both the distribution and sales department
Social: 500 increase number in girl’s education and access to affordable pads: empowering young people to champion andinjustice that would give them a voice in their community
Environmental: Biodegradable and environmentally friendly

Equipment: We need more machinery eg cutting models to ease our work of production of the pads as well as packaging.
Working Space: A large working space (Expanding production facility and working space for production, storage and training
Human resource: We need a bigger committed facilitated team (Hiring more qualified staff/human resource to do the training and manufacturing of the pad, sales and marketing etc)
Partnerships: We would like to be introduced to organisations that work within our area of focus, government bodies and individuals.
Funding: We need to be supported with finances to increase production.

C5Z23

With the new farm I have been allocated, I hope to blast water, fence and upscale the production and approach supermarkets because previously I had approached them and my scale of production could not reach their expectation and demand. Botswana has also limited the importation of vegetables which make me at an added advantage of access to the market. I also want to send my jam for testing with National Food Technology Research Centre.

Extreme temperatures in the country make farming without greenhouse a challenge. The country is dry so there is a need for drilling of water in the farm because use of domestic water make water bill estimates too high.

C6Z24

The next big step is to launch new products that we have been preparing (e-commerce and healthcare app), and launch our learning academy

The challenge we are facing is just getting right equipments and a convenient place to run our business and academy we people can come and learn.

C7Z25

C8Z26

The next step in our business strategy is to introduce gold buying as a profit making initiative. This is aimed at provided a larger capital base for the association to carry out its mandate of rehabilitating miners as well as the vulnerable and less privileged families within the communities with which we work in. The Zimbabwean government has recently allowed mining companies and associations (such as ourselves) to acquire gold buying licenses (of which we have done so). These licenses allow us to legally buy gold from the miners who work for us as well as from other independent gold producers and sell for a larger profit by means of an incentive attached to the gold buying license. Through this initiative we look forward to increasing our capital equipment, concessions, community development and rehabilitation, miners training and rehabilitation as well as land rehabilitation and preservation.

The current challenge we are faced with is incapacity to support the multitudes of miners who have joined the association and are waiting to be allocated resources to begin mining. We also face the challenge of the need to explore vast areas within our concessions in order to provide miners with areas that are resourceful and will provide a return on their effort exerted. Lastly we face the challenge of liquidity in order to buy gold from the miners directly to resell for an incentivized profit.

C9Z27

La prochaine grande opportunités ést d'acheter de machines pour faciliter la production

D1Z28

We aim to control the entire value chain, from production to packaging and commercialisation.
In order to increase our sales, we need to ensure that production follows. Due to the declining productionin beekeeping as a result of a lack of investment, we are preparing to implement a project which will aid to resolve this growing problem in the sector.

We therefore seek to offer CSR solutions through beekeeping to a number of enterprises who aim to provide an impact in their communities and environment.

Our project offers immediate impact to businesses in order to reinforce sustainability ambitions and values and supports a company's commitment to the environment and local communities by engaging them in honey production.

This project aims to improve the living conditions of Congolese farmers and to make them actors in their own development, which integrates both the fight against poverty and inequality and the preservation of naturalresources.

We guarantee them a market for honey and honey products at fair prices, thus creating additional sources of income for producers and their households, stimulating the local economy by creating jobs andsubsequently improving the health and consumption habits of local consumers.

The honey is then packaged and marketed in urban areas under the "MannaLola" brand, in large supermarket chains and to othercustomers.
MannaLola is already well known and has gained a significant market share.

Despite its enormous potential, the Congolese beekeeping sector is currently the victim of several factors that considerably hinder its development, which are mainly bush fires, deforestation, the lack of training for beekeepers and, sadly, the adulteration of honey.

We find on the shelves of supermarkets in the DRC local or imported honey of low quality, filled with impurities or with water added.
Due to a lack of knowledge, the main victims are consumers who consume products that are harmful to their health.
It is therefore important for a company like ours, which is anchored in rich quality products, to standout and to make consumers aware of the need to make the best choice by proposing quality and trustworthy products.

The DRC is a global biodiversity hotspot but deforestation is threatening this natural wealth.
Slash-and-burn agriculture and charcoal burning are still common practises, and the country is regularly confronted withbush fires. Economic difficulties and the lack of alternative income unfortunately lead to a very high dependence on these activities.

Beekeeping has a positive impact on nature. The pollination work of bees improves the quality of fruit and the productivity of orchards. This encourages communities to develop healthy, safe agriculture, the effects ofwhich they can quickly see.

It is more important to create national development reforms to combat deforestation and boost a sustainable investment policy for the country.

The envisaged next opportunities include;
1. Legal compliance by registering the business in order to acquire trading license.
2. Expanding the existing idea by planting more commercial table grape vines that are protected by anti-hail nets.
3. Expanding the existing idea to production of strawberries under greenhouses.

The main challenges include;
1. Theft and vandalism - Plan is to employ security personnel and fence the area of plantation.
2. Lot of rain and hail storms that may compromise the quality of fruits during ripening season - Plan is to protect the vines with anti-hail and anti-pests nets.
3. Capital for fast-paced progress - The idea has so far been financed by family savings. It takes some time to raise these funds and progress for expansion is slow.

To equip ourselves with the necessary materials for the launch of our upcoming new on-site language training service package in English, Chinese, Swahili and Lingala (the 2 most spoken local languages in the South East Congo region for expatriates) for Corporates and individuals. We have opted for on-the-job training for our clients to help them optimize their time and have the opportunity to learn a new language on the job.

The biggest challenge is to digitize Tafsiri because thanks to technology everyone can get a quick translation with Google translator, Amazon and others but this is not the case for the administrative and legal side which requires a sworn translation and tha's keeping us stand. but to turn this challenge in an opportunity, We want to build a language training platform that would allow us to serve our clients even from a distance thanks to technology.

D4Z31

Our next big thing is the launch of the L1000 Pay mobile application. this is one of the major revolutions in transport and payment. a kind of GRAB and UBER tailor-made for the DRC. With this L1000 pay revolution, we intend to bring more value, security, ease of transport while allowing adapted mobile payment. we have been developing the L1000 Pay revolution for more than two years and the time has come to drop the bomb. in the days to come we will all hear about it. this L1000 pay revolution will be of great help to the community and will allow our company to be valued at more than USD10,000 in less than three years. we have invested time, energy and a lot of money to develop it, and we intend to do more for growth.

Since 2019, we have faced several challenges and we have always come out of them : accidents, lack of funding, lack of mentoring, taxes, lack of infrastructure, insecurity and wars, volcanic eruption, covid19 pandemic etc.; but we have always managed thanks to the resilience and dedication of the management team of LES MILLE SERVICES SARL. No matter the situation, we always manage. we are winners. it is true that it is not easy, but we are getting there.

D5Z32

I just finished registering the business, bought the domain name and busy developing the e-commerce platform. The next step is to trademark our name with Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA). We then integrate an online payment system on the platform, find office/warehouse space for lease and furnish it with office and kitchen utensils. Afterwards, apply for our fitness certificate from the Windhoek Municipality and have my team ready by hiring a few of my current class mates to assist on the journey. Get all our marketing strategies inline and then outsource the first E-bikes for delivery from E-bikes before business operations can officially starts.

The only challenge I am facing now is just starting capital to implement the solution, that is all. The development of the platform is not an issue because I have learning how to code/develop e-commerce through taking online courses on how to program (self taught). Maybe not finding a reliable supplier for the raw materials, prices of the raw materials we will be using might just increase which might cost us to increase our prices too which could be wrongly received by the clients and lastly a delay in receiving our fitness certificate from the Windhoek municipality which will prolong or hinder our official start day of business.

D6Z33

Our next big step is rolling out our product nationwide, to achieve this we next good financial muscle to spend on advertising and hiring of a fulltime sales team.

Capital is our only challenge for now. We have a fully functional prototype with traction and one paying corporate client, a good team with different expertise and we just need capital to take our business to the next level.

D7Z34

In my adventure with UPG Biashara, I would like to introduce myself as a poultry farmer and tell you about a problem that we experience daily as poultry farmer and we would like to solve. It is the absence of a poultry slaughterhouse throughout the country.

I would like to solve this problem by installing a poultry slaughterhouse in the city of Goma which would be a great advance in this field because all the poultry farmers suffer from it and according to the study of the market, we are to more than 500 poultry farmers only in Goma.

D8Z35

The next big step is moving back to Lesotho, from Johannesburg. Use the savings and the provident fund proceeds to register and find the perfect place for this beautiful idea that will promote the reading culture among Basotho. Especially the youth.

The challenge will be surviving the first six months of starting. I have a failed start up experience and my biggest worry is finding the perfect spot.

Our company CENTRE AGRI INNOV SARL (www.centreagriinnov.com) exists since 2019 which is developing the CAIM project (Center for Modern Integrated Agriculture) in Guinea and can be implemented in other rural areas in Guinea and elsewhere . The next step is to buy a large motor pump to do drip irrigation, grow 50,000 plants of various trees for reforestation, and hire another 20 employees.

Our challenges: lack of adequate training and coaching, networking and funding.

E1Z37

Expansion to international markets.
With the new product extensions, we shall now be able to easily expand outside Tanzania Borders. As we explore markets in Africa sharing the same problem, it shall nowbe easy for a person anywhere in Africa to use any book available in his/her country, pay for a module and see the reality of things learned in books.

Slow adaptation of Education policy on the use of the digital tools in the classroom. In 2016 ICT policy that allows the use of digital devices was established and started to be implemented, penetration for the past two years was not good. But good news is there is some government initiative under ICT Commission that has started to recognize and formalize local lCT solutions to be used in the government level we have been able to be part of it (ICT COMMISSION SOFT CENTER PROGRAM).
Also now the younger generation is replacing the older generation in the education system which gives us immediate acceptance when introducing our digital solutionto them.

Currently, we are testing the first hard coded version of modules (also known as features) in a controlled environment and among 1000 end-users Gauteng until June 2022. Through this funding you could held up us to develop the fully fledged version with full front and back-end functionality and design by September 2022. This final version will first be tested among 100 000 end-users across South Africa in preparation for market entry in early 2023.
The functionalities which you could assist in developing include:
1. M-TETO University Module: Provides unlimited access to learning resources related to all things SRGBV. This includes pdfs, templates of legal and policing documents (eg: affidavits), e-books, podcasts, webinars, classes, courses, videos, audio books and educational games.
2. Helpers Module: Enables end-users to safely access free/pro-bono legal, psycho-social, policing, medical and sexual and reproductive health and rights services and service providers.

selected police station, as well as the police official who is on duty. This removes barriers and delays in survivors accessing rape kits.
4. The Emergency Module: Allows people who download the app to immediately contact emergency services or to ask for immediate assistance. This button is available without logging in or registering. End-users can call police, ambulance, emergency contacts and therapists for free.

I am a young, black female entrepreneur. Even with my expertise and experience, I can affirm the fact that it is nearly impossible to be funded. Those who are funded are usually funded through illicit processes.
Therefore, the greatest pain to my entrepreneurial journey has been the strained access to funding from my own country, which has forced me to look outside of my borders.
Whilst I have enjoyed relatively greater success from outside of my home country, the reality is that the same discrimination which has excluded me and others like me still prevails.
Globally, 5% of all venture capital funding goes to female-led startups.
In the United States and the United Kingdom, 0.27% and 0.24% of all venture capital money goes to Black female led startups.
This picture is not much better than that of South Africa.
That said, the world is terribly hostile to Black female entrepreneurs. And, have chosen to not sit on the negative side of this spectrum. However, the reality of poor access to resources still remains unchanged, even for empowered Black women such as myself.

Success to us is impact and helping connect more rural communities with electricity solutions that are affordable and that is accessible to all, we do this by using recycling materials to locally design hybrid power solution that provide electricity to poor and deprive rural communities,
we hope to power more fifteen communities in the next one year and impact the lives of over one thousand beneficiaries, this will impacteducation, health business etc.
Connecting these communities to electricity will drastically improve and impacts all other sectors of development and improve the living condition of these communities, through our experiencein lighting up these we see testimonies from these communities and the replacement of kerosene lamps, Chinese light and other traditions ways of generating electricity is saving them a lots of money and now using the most affordable waste to energy solution.
We want to use the our hybrid power solution to impacted youths and women and train more youths in recycling waste to energy so that they can help replicate the solution in othercommunities.
We hope to replicate the solution in one hundred communities in the next five years, this will help impact more rural and farm reached communities
We are scaling our system by improving on the scale and performance of our solution by improving the sustainability of the system and help more communities.
These system will scale by also adopting the use of more improved design materials that can make it more sustainable.
Scaling up will also involve increasing on the energy capacity from 5kW to 1MW that will increase access to more communities and impact all sector of development, our hybrid power solution is working during the rainy and dry season and can be the appropriate solution the poor energy problem in Sierra Leone

Our challenges includes poor rural infrastructure facilities in rural communities, there is poor road network in these communities and is a huge challenge in accessing these communities, there are no better access to these communities and is affecting the efficient of the delivery of the projects,
There is also a problem of low investment or funding opportunities in supporting these projects in rural communities, fundingto help these communities is limited and affecting the success of the project
Poor communication in these communities, there are no better communication system that can be used to help these communities, the mobile networkfacilities in these communities is very low and one of the greatest factor affecting the development of these communities.

ApplicationID 11. How would a Diamonds Do Good® Entrepreneurship Grant of USD 5,000 support your business / business idea?

Section E - Community Impact of Business

ApplicationID 9. How does your business or business idea contribute to your community?
A1Z1

The business contributes to the community as follows:
-The business will hire locals whether part time or full time
-Production of flowers that bring a smile-happiness to locals

A2Z2

Our business positively contributes to the community in the following ways:

1. Production of our fish helps in cushioning fish shortage problems in the local fish markets, thus addressing food securityproblems.

2. We also help in creating job opportunities for women and youth.

3. Training opportunity is also another fundamental benefits of our business to the community youths in having skills on Aquacultureentrepreneurship (Fish Farming basics).

4. Another community benefits is promoting a climate smart strategy in fish food production using eco friendly materials.

A3Z3

The business will create employment to thousands of drivers across our regions. This will definitely go a long well in serving our communities with income generating opportunities. Timo will also help in the creation of smart and sustainable cities, digitalizing our societies in Africa. Timo will also certainly necessitate the democratization of the tax industry. Good to fight corruption in the tax industry which is controlled by only a few oligarchies.

A4Z4

Coming out of a dark history of apartheid, my country has had to undergo a long process to build electricity infrastructure to serve previously disadvantaged and rural communities that were excluded from participation in the economy. With an ongoing energy crisis that began in 2008, these communities are once again being left behind as many households transition to solar and other green energy solutions. My company and the two novel products we offer serves to fix this injustice by making solar PV accessible to all customer segments and reducing the barriers for many low-income and rural communities. Access to clean & affordable energy has the potential to improve education, livelihoods and quality of life for all, and increasing uptake of solar means that we reduce our negative impact on the climate while helping people access this basic need.

A5Z5

Our target customer persona is a career woman who is looking for work-life balance and professional progression.

Until modern times, legal and cultural practices, combined with the inertia of longstanding religious and educational conventions, restricted women's entry and participation in the workforce. Over the past 50 years, women have made great strides in the employment market but many still feel their progress is being obstructed. According to Forbes, although 52% of professional jobs are held by women, they are substantially underrepresented in leadership roles. Only 14.6% of top executive officers, 8.1% of top earners, and 4.6% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women. At this rate, it is estimated that women will not achieve parity in leadership until 2085. According to the "Women in the Workplace 2018" study, it is during promotions to higher positions that women are consistently left behind. This difference between the genders usually occurs when a woman decides to start a family. At this stage, women play a less active career-focused role because of their family obligations. Supporting women to have access to quality and decent work and improve their livelihoods is therefore vital for fulfilling women’s rights, reducing poverty and attaining broader development goals. The best solutions to address the problem must combine a range of decent employment opportunities with network of services that support balancing women’s engagement in the workplace and family responsibilities. Cherished Kidz is an enterprise that leverages on the power of technology to provide a service that gives working mothers peace of mind to outsource transportation of their children between home and school by giving them assurance on the safety and security of their children. This will help them to be fully engaged and more productive at work, and stand a better chance to compete for promotion and leadership opportunities with men. Women empowerment and achieving gender equality is essential for our society to ensure the sustainable development of any country.

This business is what Africa, and Botswana need to transform to a knowledge-based economy. Information is the new money, meaning with knowledge you can create wealth. And with financial knowledge children will be equipped to make informed and better financial choices about how the earn money, how the manage it and how the grow it. This will go a long way in preparing them for the future of work and will smoothen thier transition from school to work, either as employees or entrepreneurs. Financial literacy is a cross cutting subject that is needed by every child. An economically empowered generation is able to empower people around them in their communities. This is a sure way to groom game changers who will be able to lift their families from poverty. Ending poverty and income inequalities begins with empowering children with quality financial education, and other critical life skills such as leadership, team work and public speaking.

Fro'Niques was started as a passion for natural hair, we grew up in a space where beauty was defined by skin color and hair texture. We witnessed how people wanted to change the way they look so that they can be viewed as beautiful, straighten hair or change their skin color. At Fro'Niques we wanted to change the narrative, we want kids growing up like us to realize that their hair is beautiful as is, that they are enough and they do not need to change anything about themselves. We then self-published a coring book for kids called "I AM MAGNIFICET" showing people with different hair kinds and textures to say we are all beautiful, that they need to be bold and unapologetic because they are who they are and nothing should change that. Sometimes we go for outreaches just to meet with young kids and talk about hair and beauty. At Fro'Niques we are about education and empowerment. This business will create more employment as it grows, we plan on training and hiring more women and men.

Our manufactured accessible and affordable washable sanitary pads are made from a high absorbent microfiber material. Washable sanitary napkins avoid a lot of waste of disposable pads that ends up in the environment. In the first year of our production, over 900,000 disposable pads will be knocked out of the market ( meaning; the disposal pads dealers will lose over 900,000 buyers) this is because the reusable pad we produced has a life span of two years which a customer will prefer to a disposable pad that will be dumped after use.
Our pads are Easily washable – limited quantity of water Compared to cotton-based sanitary napkins producedby competitors, the microfiber absorption layer requires considerably less water for washing. It is also known that growing cotton requires large amounts of water. The Shecures sanitary napkin is therefore not only more hygienic but also ecological. At Shecures, we always want our customers to get the best services and as such we also provide a menstrual hygiene guide, a manual that helps adolescents (both boys and girls) to gain knowledge about menstruation and serve as health educators/ peer educators in their schools.

My solution will solve a worrying problem for the poultry farmers but also for the consumers because some of them are afraid to buy slaughtered chickens because they doubt the conditions in which this operation has been done because often some of them do it in unhealthy places and do not respect the hygiene standards. With the slaughterhouse, the sanitary norms will be respected so by buying the ready to cook chicken of Gysha Farm, one will have less chores before cooking. But also we will create work because we will need an additional workforce in the company and therefore will have to reduce the unemployment rate.

Lack of visual enhancement learning tools for science subjects in schools hinder students to see in reality how scientific concepts they are and how they work. More than 70% of schools in Tanzania has no access to standard laboratories which could enable students to perform every science concept the learn in class room (Source: UNESCO data).

smartDarasa is closing the gap between school education provided and its practicability to solve local/global challenges available within the community. This made teachers to proper explain concept as well as studentto get it well visually.

With this approach we expect to double passing rate in science subjects as well as increasing the student who will be willing to take science subjects because of our mode of delivery. Inlong run we expect to increase number of science experts in our country who are more competent as well as society who will be able to come up with more initiatives for solving existing problem in our society.
