UPG Monthly Internal Awards Nominations

Nomination
Welcome. Please NOMINATE based on actions observed during the relevant month of the award. And in your “Reason for Nomination”, please specify specific actions, behaviours, achievement and mention that they were observed “this month.”

✅ 💙💙💙 GOOD nomination: "This month of May, “Anu-United Voices” hosted an excellent session."  Great job! Now please also share why it was excellent.

❌ 😡😭😡 BAD nomination: "“Anu-United Voices” always hosts good sessions."  Terrible! How do we know if she is nominated for a monthly award because she "always" does this or if it is because she did it this month?

Are you ready?

Freedom: We let people “opt in” as opposed to forcing them to “opt out”. We do not force others to do things. We do not force our views on others.
Independence: Freedom is even more powerful with independence. Just as we value our independence, we also value and protect the independence of others.
Diversity: Diversity is embraced as an essential hallmark of freedom and independence. We work with people from all walks of life and we encourage people to be themselves.
Dignity: We strive to protect the dignity of every stakeholder and we apologies if we ever fall short. There is no situation that requires a person to be denied their dignity.
Positivity: We believe that ordinary people have the power to make the world a better place and even in difficult situations, we focus on positive ways that people can contribute solutions.
Possibility: In situations where right or wrong may not be clear, we focus on exploring the best possible outcomes; with the recognition that finding any “best” solution depends on engaging several stakeholders.
My Truth Before My Power: We always share our understanding of the truth as a priority above any consequences for our own power. This requires us to exercise our courage.
Courage: Courage is triumph over fear. In moments of fear we find the courage to take action. In these moments, silence, violence and deflection are often among the worst responses.
Accountable: We take responsibility for our mandate (not only our tasks), which includes all matters that conceivably fall under our responsibility.
Structure: We believe that structure sets you free and so we work in a manner that is structured and deliberate. This does not preclude spontaneity and serendipity. Excellence is an attitude and a habit that is formed through practice. We strive for excellence.
