Adanna Ajugwe: Diversity, Possibility and Courage- In October, she exemplified the values of diversity, possibility, and courage through her actions and leadership. She actively fostered an inclusive environment by encouraging diverse perspectives during team discussions, ensuring that all voices were heard and valued. During this month, and for the first time, Adanna was part of the On Site Team for the UPGS Pilgrimage. She demonstrated courage by learning and doing several things for the first time, while also working with people that she was working closely with for the first time. Among these things, Adanna facilitated specific sessions within the pilgrimage programme on Hurricane Island. She represented the UPG Team very effectively in interactions with key stakeholders – protecting UPG’s interests at every opportunity. Adanna’s openness to innovative ideas created a culture of possibility, inspiring the team to explore innovative solutions and approaches to challenges.
Chimbo Clearance: Possibility - Chimbo is admired for his determination to deliver despite the challenges they are facing in their community. He makes sure that he delivers excellently and manage to set proper expectations with the people with whom he is working. He is helpful and patient to teach and clarify in moments I come to him to ask things about our activities.
Elaine Martal: Dignity, Positivity, Accountable, Courage. In October, Elaine consistently embodies the values of dignity, positivity, accountability, and courage. She treats everyone with respect, fostering an inclusive environment where all voices are valued. Her positive attitude inspires those around them, even in challenging situations. Elaine takes responsibility for their actions and decisions, demonstrating accountability that builds trust within the team. Moreover, she shows courage by standing up for what is right and addressing issues head-on, ensuring that our organization remains aligned with its core values. During this month, Elaine was part of the On Site Team for the UPGS Pilgrimage. She made herself Accountable to ensure that the pilgrimage programme was a success. Working hard on her own sessions and supporting the sessions of others. She represented the UPG Team very effectively in interactions with key stakeholders – protecting UPG’s interests at every opportunity. Elaine’s commitment to these behaviours makes her an invaluable asset to our team.
PaulineNderi– Courage and Structure. Pauline demonstrated exceptional courage during the planning and execution of the Peace for Palestine events. Despite the complexities and sensitivities involved, she navigated logistical challenges with remarkable composure and determination. Her leadership shone through as she maintained a clear focus on the mission, ensuring a successful outcome while fostering a space for meaningful dialogue. Pauline also demonstrated these behaviours in her exemplary leadership of the Pilgrimage Programme Design Team. Pauline ensured that the Pilgrimage Programme Design Team was able to deliver on its role to design and to deliver the pilgrimage programme. Despite not being present on the island and not having ever run the specific kind of pilgrimage that we ran in October, Pauline’s structured approach ensured that we delivered exemplary outcomes as a Team. By addressing potential difficulties with resilience and guiding her teams with unwavering commitment, Pauline exemplified true leadership, transforming challenges into opportunities for impactful engagement.
Ugochi Ukpa: Structure. In October, Ugochi has been exceptional, making significant contributions across multiple activities. Her leadership in managing the Pilgrimage team and the Programme Development Team has been particularly noteworthy, as she navigated complex challenges with courage and resilience. Ugochi successfully executed a series of events without any downtime, demonstrating her commitment to the mission and her team's well-being. Additionally, she played a crucial role in securing funding for various initiatives aimed at supporting youth development, positively impacting marginalized communities. Her strategic planning and proactive problem-solving have fostered collaboration among stakeholders, making her an invaluable asset to the organisation.
Zunaira Shakil: - Structure. During the planning and execution of the Peace for Palestine events, this team member demonstrated exceptional organisational skills and a structured approach that contributed to the events' success. She meticulously broke down complex requirements into manageable components, establishing a clear framework for efficient coordination. Pauline’s methodical planning included creating a comprehensive timeline and precisely delegating tasks, while their proactive problem-solving addressed potential challenges in advance. By maintaining effective communication among team members and stakeholders, she ensured alignment with the event's objectives.
