1 - In my participation as one of the chosen UPG Sustainability Leaders in the #JourneytoHurricane campaign I commit to fulfilling the responsibilities required of UPG Sustainability Leaders in a thoughtful, deliberate and loving manner.
2 - I commit to engaging in all media-related activities of the campaign including but not limited to live sessions where I will get to speak about my projects and advocate for myself to the public and to the campaign’s stakeholders.
3 - I commit to being responsive by responding to requests in a timely manner. This is typically within 24 to 48 hours.
4 - I acknowledge that I understand that only the top 2 nominees (male and female) by votes from each of the target regions will be selected to proceed to the next phase of the #UPGSustainability Leadership training at Hurricane Island.
5 - In the event that I am selected among the winners of this campaign, then I commit to immediately begin processing my visa application for the pilgrimage to Hurricane Island. I acknowledge that although UPG has committed to cover my travel, lodging and training expenses, I am solely responsible for any expense that I may incur in the process of my visa application.
6 - I commit to follow international travel guidelines by taking a WHO-approved vaccination for COVID-19 before my arrival at Hurricane Island as required by the facility in line with it’s COVID-19 prevention measures.
7 - I commit to participating in any additional health-related requirements that are designed as part of the response to ensure the safety of everyone involved in the Journey to Hurricane Island. Specifically, this includes taking COVID-19 tests before or during or after the journey to Hurricane Island.
8 I absolve UPG and Hurricane Island of any blame related to logistical changes made as a result of any pandemic situation.
9 - I commit to participating in this campaign in a manner that is consistent with the UPG Action Guidelines.
10 - I commit to ensuring that my participation will always be done in a loving manner so that this campaign represents the “positive” aspects of a democratic voting process.
11 - I commit to ensuring the integrity of the voting process
12 - I commit to participating in activities connected to this campaign even AFTER the voting. I understand that when we mobilise the public to engage in a campaign, then we owe a responsibility to provide updates even after the voting. I make this commitment regardless of whether I am one of the selected 6 or not.
13 - I acknowledge that this agreement is complementary to the Agreement that I signed as a Candidate to Become a UPG Sustainability Leader and I acknowledge my understanding that that original agreement also remains valid.
14 - I understand that any failure on my part to meet the requirements and expectations may lead to my removal from this campaign and to the potential of additional consequences.
