Yes! That is really who you are!

I am currently working at Bukhara State University in the Department of Quality Assurance in Education as a Chief Specialist. Over the course of my career, I have developed a strong passion for sustainability, which became more apparent as I engaged with international rankings. Their detailed questionnaires, often focused on sustainability, deepened my understanding of its importance and inspired me to integrate these principles into my work.
One of my key responsibilities at Bukhara State University is overseeing sustainability initiatives. I was honored to be the coordinator for organizing the 2nd International Student Leaders Meeting in partnership with the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings in November 2023, which brought together 70 students from different parts of the world to discuss and collaborate on global sustainability efforts. Additionally, our university is proud to be a member of Race to Zero, a global initiative working toward a Zero Carbon World.
While we have made significant progress, there is still much to achieve in the field of sustainability. I am committed to utilizing every available opportunity to further these goals and to ensure a brighter, more sustainable future for our institution and beyond.

Passion for sustainability (I am deeply committed to creating a sustainable future and continuously seek opportunities to learn and grow in this field), Leadership and collaboration (I have experience leading sustainability projects and thrive in collaborative settings, working with diverse teams to achieve common goals). Problem-solving (I’m skilled at finding practical, creative solutions to sustainability challenges and adapting to new situations). Effective communication (I can clearly communicate sustainability concepts and inspire others to take action).
|
One example of how I used Leadership and collaboration was when I coordinated the 2nd International Student Leaders Meeting at Bukhara State University in November 2023. While the event itself lasted three days, the preparation took over a month of hard work with a dedicated team. Together, we brought 70 students from different countries to discuss sustainability. It was an inspiring experience to see how collaboration and open communication helped turn our vision into a reality, creating a space where students could share ideas and motivate each other to take action for a more sustainable future.

I really believe in the power of volunteering and have had the chance to be part of some meaningful projects. One experience that stands out is volunteering with the Green Space Initiative, where we planted trees to help make our environment greener. It felt great to be part of something that could have a lasting positive impact on nature. More recently, I volunteered during the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024 in Uzbekistan, working with the Partnership Rights Delivery team. Both experiences taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, community and how even small efforts can contribute to bigger changes. Volunteering has deepened my passion for sustainability and shown me how much we can achieve when we work together.

If I were to lead a sustainability-related project, I’d create a program called “Little Green Heroes” in partnership with local kindergartens. The idea would be to teach young children about sustainability through fun and engaging activities, like making art from recycled materials, planting trees or learning about the plants and animals in their area. These workshops would make big concepts like recycling and conserving water easy for kids to understand and enjoy. By starting early, we can inspire children to build sustainable habits and encourage them to share what they’ve learned with their families, spreading the impact even further. My hope is to make sustainability something joyful and accessible for the youngest members of our community, planting the seeds for a lifelong commitment to caring for the planet.

One challenge for the “Little Green Heroes” project for kindergartens would be securing resources like funding and materials. I’d address this by working with government agencies and local businesses to provide support. Another challenge might be keeping the children engaged, so I’d use fun activities like storytelling, games and hands-on tasks like planting to make sustainability exciting. Lastly, involving families could be difficult, but I’d organize simple, family-friendly events like gardening days to extend the project’s impact beyond the classroom.
