Hello, I’m Zeynep Marangoz. I’m 24 years old, and I truly believe my educational journey could inspire many people. Like many young individuals today, I felt trapped in a system. During my final year of high school, I was completely undecided about my future. Instead of preparing for the university entrance exam, I wanted to explore, have fun with my friends, and enjoy life.

In Turkey, the university entrance exam is incredibly challenging and requires almost full-time dedication. The obligations of my senior year cornered me, so I decided not to attend university after my first attempt. This turned out to be the worst decision because the following year, without the structure of school and facing pressure from those around me asking why I hadn’t gone to university, I fell into a deep psychological crisis. I skipped university again that year.

Finally, in my last attempt, feeling like I had no other choice, I managed to get into a private university. Then, one day, my father said, “Isn’t it time to grow up?” That was the moment I decided to grow up, and I eventually earned a spot at a public university. My life changed after that. I formed an amazing group of friends, and together, we traveled to many cities across my country.

Through these travels, I realized that discovering new places also helps you discover new things about yourself. That’s why I’m applying for this program—to explore another country, get closer to the best version of myself, and lead in ways I believe can inspire others.

Now, let’s talk about some good things. I’m a writer. I’ve authored three books on the Webnovel platform. If you’d like to read them, my username is safsak59. Writing, for me, is more than a hobby—it’s a way of expressing myself, much like speaking. I believe hiding what you want to say behind a story makes it much more impactful.

I’m also an excellent swimmer. While I’m not a licensed athlete, I live very close to the beach, and ever since my dad threw me into the water when I was two years old, I’ve been swimming. I can swim as well as a professional athlete.

The strenght that I choose is “problem solver”.
Here is the story: When I was in high school, I started teaching English to young children. I was teaching a group of 10 kids aged 8 to 10. Most of the time, they were uncontrollable. Once, we went on a trip, and I had to watch over all 10 of them by myself. To keep them together, I told them that if they managed to stick together the entire time, they could officially become adults, and we would have an “adulting” party afterward.

Throughout the day, they looked out for one another and never separated, all in hopes of becoming adults. Later, we had an amazing party—a transition to adulthood filled with sweets and games. It was the coolest party I’ve ever been a part of.

I have no experience as a volunteer. Because I have anxiety and it made me so close and shy. I had no courage. That is the only reason. I had no courage.

Undergraduate: I have completed an undergraduate degree

I would start a kindness movement. Social media is incredibly powerful, and people practically live there. To encourage them to go outside and become part of sustainability, I would launch an event with small tasks and ask participants to record themselves completing these tasks and share them on their social media accounts.

For example, one task could be sending three pieces of plastic waste to recycling. There would be rewards for those who complete the most tasks.

The main challenge I might face is getting people involved in this. To address this issue and encourage participation, I would involve a few social media influencers in the initiative. This would create great promotion and motivation.

Another challenge is tracking the videos for points. To solve this problem, we could create a hashtag to easily monitor the videos.
