My background is deeply rooted in Kurdish heritage, with connections to the Barznji indigenous group and family ties in Halabja. Professionally, I’ve taken on significant roles in various companies in Kurdistan. I’m part of the Pasha Plant Ready Concrete Company and currently serve as the Chairman of the Purchasing and Supply Committee at Bunyan, a company known for its contributions to the region’s development.

My involvement as a UPG Sustainability Leader reflects my commitment to sustainable practices and making a positive impact on the community. My journey so far is characterized by a blend of cultural pride, professional dedication, and a focus on sustainability.

Here are some strengths that make me capable of being a UPG Sustainability Leader: 1. **Strong Leadership Skills**: I have experience leading teams and projects, ensuring that goals are met efficiently and effectively while keeping everyone aligned and motivated. 2. **Collaborative Mindset**: I excel at bringing people together from different backgrounds and industries to work towards common goals, which is essential for driving sustainable initiatives. 3. **Strategic Thinking**: I can develop and implement long-term strategies that align with sustainability goals, ensuring that actions taken today will have a positive impact in the future. 4. **Cultural Awareness**: My deep connection to my Kurdish heritage and understanding of local traditions allows me to approach sustainability in a way that is respectful and relevant to the community. 5. **Project Management Experience**: I have successfully managed large-scale projects, such as the Baxi Gshti renovation, which involved coordinating multiple stakeholders and ensuring sustainable outcomes. 6. **Passion for Sustainability**: I am deeply committed to making a positive impact on the environment and society, and I am driven to find innovative solutions to the challenges we face. 7. **Communication Skills**: I am able to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively, which is vital for raising awareness and engaging others in sustainability efforts. 8. **Problem-Solving Ability**: I am skilled at identifying challenges and finding practical, effective solutions, particularly in the context of sustainability and resource management. 9. **Commitment to Continuous Learning**: I am always eager to expand my knowledge and stay updated on the latest sustainability trends and practices, which helps me to be an informed and effective leader.

I would choose **Collaborative Mindset** as the strength to highlight.

A time when I used my collaborative mindset to achieve something significant was during the Baxi Gshti renovation project in Sulaimani. This project required the coordination of multiple stakeholders, including the local government, private construction companies, environmental organizations, and community members.

The park, being one of the oldest and most beloved public spaces in the city, needed careful planning to ensure its renovation would honor its history while incorporating modern, sustainable practices. I brought together a diverse team and facilitated open communication among all parties. My role was to ensure that everyone’s ideas and concerns were heard and that we worked together towards a common vision.

Through this collaborative approach, we were able to design and implement a renovation plan that not only improved the park’s infrastructure but also enhanced its environmental sustainability. The project included the installation of energy-efficient lighting, improved water management systems, and the addition of native plants that required minimal maintenance.

The successful completion of this project demonstrated the power of collaboration. By working together, we created a space that serves the community, respects the environment, and stands as a model for future sustainable urban projects. This experience reinforced my belief in the importance of collaboration and its ability to achieve positive, lasting outcomes.

Yes, I have experience as a volunteer. One of my most memorable volunteering experiences was during a community-led initiative in Halabja, where we worked on restoring a historical site that holds significant cultural value to the region.

I joined a group of local volunteers in a project aimed at cleaning and preserving the Nargesjar village area, particularly around the historical monuments and graveyards. My role involved coordinating the cleanup efforts, organizing the volunteers, and liaising with local authorities to ensure that the restoration work was done respectfully and sustainably.

From this experience, I learned the importance of preserving cultural heritage and the impact that volunteer work can have on a community. It was a powerful reminder that even small actions, when do

Project Overview:
Community-Wide Green Infrastructure Initiative aims to integrate sustainable practices into the community’s infrastructure. This would involve creating green spaces, implementing rainwater harvesting systems, and promoting energy-efficient buildings.

Why This Project?
Environmental Impact: Green infrastructure helps in managing stormwater, reducing heat island effects, and enhancing biodiversity. By integrating nature into urban settings, we can mitigate the impact of climate change.

Community Health: Green spaces promote physical and mental well-being. Parks and green areas provide recreational spaces, reduce pollution, and offer places for social interaction.

Economic Benefits: Energy-efficient buildings and green infrastructure can reduce utility costs, enhance property values, and create jobs in the green sector.

Educational Opportunities: The project would include educational components to inform residents about sustainable practices and the benefits of green infrastructure. This promotes a culture of sustainability within the community.

Key Components:
Green Spaces: Develop new parks, community gardens, and urban forests. Enhance existing parks with native plants, green roofs, and sustainable landscaping.

Rainwater Harvesting: Install rain barrels and other water capture systems in residential and public buildings to reduce reliance on municipal water systems and lower water bills.

Energy Efficiency: Promote retrofitting buildings with energy-efficient technologies such as solar panels, LED lighting, and high-efficiency HVAC systems.

Sustainability Education: Launch workshops, seminars, and outreach programs to educate the community about sustainability practices and the benefits of green infrastructure.

Partnerships: Collaborate with local governments, businesses, and non-profits to secure funding and support for the initiative. Engage with local schools and community groups to involve them in the project.
