Yes! That is really who you are!
|
My name is Abdallah Abainou, a 21-year-old from Morocco. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English Linguistics from Ibn Zohr University and bring a diverse range of work experiences. I’ve worked as an English teacher, which honed my communication and organizational skills, and have hands-on experience in roles like waitering, farming, warehousing, kitchen helping, and cashiering, which taught me adaptability and resilience. Additionally, I have experience in food delivery and transportation, which further developed my time management skills. I’m passionate about creativity and learning, with skills in drawing, Photoshop, and sports, especially football. I look forward to expanding my leadership skills and contributing to impactful projects through the UPG Sustainability program.

Adaptability – communication skills- public speaking skills – teamwork – strong work ethics – creativity.
|
One of my key strengths is public speaking, which I put to the test when I started teaching English. At first, it was challenging—especially making eye contact with my students, as I felt nervous, and they seemed unsure about engaging with me. But with continuous practice in each session, I began to feel more comfortable, and my students started to trust me. Over time, they grew less focused on watching me and more on learning; they even began answering questions and, at times, causing disruptions, though it’s a bad thing related to class control which i had to deal with later, yet it showed me they felt relaxed and accepted me in the teacher role. It was then that I realized I was succeeding in delivering my lessons in a way that engaged them.

if you mean volunteering abroad, honestly, i have never had the chance yet to be part of a team; i was all focused on my studies and work the whole university period of four years. the only voluntery activity i done was painting and decorating the walls of a kindergarten. Due to my excelent Drawing skills, i did a great job in drawing an painting some Dora and elephants drawings in wall that seem like professional, with the help of a teemate, she had no knowledge of the activity, i showed her everything she needs to do, how to work, etc. Now after i created my Passport and totally ready for any abroad work or opportunities more than local ones.

If I were to lead a sustainability project in my community, I’d focus on reducing plastic waste. Plastic pollution is a big issue here, and I see a lot of single-use plastic that ends up littering streets and natural areas. My project would aim to raise awareness about alternatives and organize clean-up events to collect and properly dispose of plastic waste. I’d also work with local shops and coffee shops to encourage using reusable bags and containers. This project could make a visible difference, helping keep our community cleaner while teaching people about sustainable habits.
|
Getting people to alter their behaviors, particularly with regard to using less plastic, is one of the difficulties I anticipate this project will provide. It may take some time to persuade people to convert to alternatives because many are accustomed to the ease of single-use plastics. To get around this, I would emphasize raising awareness and educating people about the negative environmental effects of plastic and providing simple, useful substitutes like reusable containers or bags.
Obtaining adequate resources and support, particularly in the beginning, may provide another difficulty. To create a network of sponsors and volunteers, I would get in touch with nearby companies, educational institutions, and civic associations. I would encourage more individuals to get involved and support the cause by demonstrating the project’s advantages and how it can assist the community.
