During my graduate and postgraduate studies, I conducted numerous field surveys for academic purposes, with a primary focus on sustainable spatial management. Through this journey, I gathered valuable community observations and insights into their development needs. This experience allowed me to achieve meaningful results in these areas, as I was able to draft comprehensive reports and propose new ideas based on real-world data. My strong communication skills, community outreach, teamwork, and dedication were crucial in achieving these goals and contributing to impactful solutions.
As a National Service Scheme volunteer, I gained deep insights into community challenges and decision-making. I saw firsthand how political and social factors affect sustainability projects and often overshadow local needs. Many community members were unaware of their surroundings, leading to poor project management. Despite extensive research and ideas, real-world impact was often limited, highlighting a gap between academic proposals and practical outcomes. This experience reinforced the need for projects to deliver tangible benefits and for research to translate effectively into real-world solutions.

One of my project work is based on Pokkali rice cultivation of Kerala. Which is a time-tested, sustainable agricultural practice that fosters environmental conservation, supports local communities, and promotes organic farming. It stands as a model for climate-adaptive agriculture, particularly in saline-prone regions. Now such cultivations are in a decreasing trend due to changing climatic conditions and unavailability of working people. So, as a healthier and sustainable agricultural practice our project with field study is based on the historical importance and major needs of the current agricultural practice included mapping the area of cultivated in a locality.
Fieldwork for this project may present several challenges due to the complex nature of accessibility and specific task requirements. One of the primary obstacles is navigating remote or rural areas where transportation is limited, making it difficult to reach specific communities. Additionally, the historical knowledge related to certain locations is often scarce, which can hinder the depth of analysis and understanding. Political factors and the lack of administrative support also tend to impact project timelines.
