I remember when I was working in Etisalat UAE as a customer service and I was one of the best among my colleagues for my skill in communicating with customers even if it was not my language, but I always knew some key words from every country whose language I did not know, such as Hindi or Urdu, but I was skilled in searching for how to provide assistance to them in a proper way and also searching for a solution to the customer’s problems even if they were outside my scope, and this is what enabled me to be honored twice by the company and made me specialize in handling sheikhs, nobles and VIP Etisalat customers.
here is the story. I remember once, I and my colleagues who were nominated with me for handling VIP Etisalat customers were working, and we had one manager with us, but something happened, and he did not come with us in this day, so we worked without a manager throughout the shift, so , During our work, a customer came with one of my colleagues , he was so frustrated and asked for the manager, and regarding my skills for communicating with customers no matter what their situation was, they gave the call to me and I helped him in the best way possible, and then he sent a thanks email with my name to the entire company, and I was honored by the operation manager and my manager for this behavior and the responsibility that I took. my proficiency in communication skills reached the point where I spent my last year in the company without making a single call to any client without solving his problem or making him be frustrated and ask for a manager. This has become a permanent part that my managers attest to, even in my new job, by merging communication skills and problem solving.

Recently, I participated in an Erasmus program for two weeks as a cultural exchange with an organization in Germany, but within the program we visited 3 camps for children who come all day and play and spend a beautiful day. During the program, we decided to make a plan for the 3 camps to make their day different and happy by making a plan to implement workshops and some special games that teach them something new.
At that time, I felt how I felt as a volunteer helping children at this age to be happy and remember a day in their lives as a happy memory. I also remember my role when they chose me and 5 others to interview a team from one camp to present to them that we would do the next day and explain to them the plans we had made, and they explained to us how the day and the activities.

if I were to lead a sustainability related project in my community, i would be focusing on a waste reduction and recycling project for plastic pollution and Aluminum cans from soft drinks. this project would aim to reduce the amount of waste and encourage better recycling at the community.
so, the reason of choosing this project that this is a significant issue in my community and when I travelled to Europe and see How do people preserve plastic and glass bottles and return them to the machine so that companies can take them for recycling. I find that no one throws them away in the whole country, which helps preserve the environment and makes it a green, unpolluted environment. Therefore, one of the reasons for choosing this project is to implement the idea of these machines in my country.
The project would involve organizing educational workshops, distributing recycling guides, and setting up accessible recycling bins in key areas of the community and by raising awareness and providing the tools for better waste management, we can reduce the overall waste generated and improve recycling rates.
|
some challenges that you except to have in this project:
-Resistance to change: because some people may be resistant to changing their habits, especially when it comes to reducing plastic use or adapting to new recycling methods. and i will overcome it by offering small rewards for those who participate in recycling effort or hosting competitions between neighborhoods could encourage participation.
-culture attitude and beliefs: In some cases, cultural attitudes or misconceptions about recycling and waste management may hinder participation. For example, people might believe that recycling doesn’t make a difference or that it’s not necessary.
so how to overcome by using relatable examples and showing the real world impact of recycling efforts through case studies or success stories could help shift these attitudes. and engaging the community in discussions about their values and aligning sustainability efforts with their existing beliefs would also be crucial in fostering change.
