I was raised by a single parent in moshie zongo where I was born. I grew up noticing how unconcerned and lack of zeal by young people to build themselves academically and professionally. But I was lucky to have my single mother who turned out to be a beacon of hope for my siblings and myself. She trained me to pursue my dreams and amidst the hardships I faced, I excelled. I have always given my support to the community by mentoring several young people to attain their goals. I join volunteer work such as health screening, wide vaccination programs and sanitation and hygiene. I joined a team of volunteers called MOZSNET (moshie zongo students net) as a tool to help inspire young people and through that I have had several of them graduate from college and others also acting as role models for others. I want to continually support humanity and I believe that through this program, I would be groomed enough to make a huge impact for people in my community and beyond.

Throughout my life, I have had several young people approach me for assistance in making complicated choices. Majority of the times, these decisions when made right, could help positively and in all these cases where anyone seeks my help, I have been there for them selflessly. I love to give this helping hand because it gives me a sense of self satisfaction. I still do this even today and I believe it is a part of me now.

I have done countless volunteer jobs and always proud of my efforts. I would like to talk about the just recent one which I have picture and video evidence to show. The was a just ended mass measles vaccination nationwide and there were no help care providers available to reach out to a school that was far from reach. It was not part of my duty to attend that school for this exercise and when I noticed that those kids could be disenfranchised, I elected myself to be of service to them. With my own money, I traveled to the place and carried out this operation at no cost to the school. I went back to assess all the kids and unfortunately, one of the kids who was not present for my service, had had the measles infection. She easily could have infected her colleagues. A big thank you to me.

I will revive the one network (MOZSNET) that was designed to promote youth education and lots of voluntary activities for the moshie zongo community, where I grew. My brother was the president of this network and he led the team into campaigning and promoting an interest in further education, clean up exercises and supporting the aged with regular health screening and recreation services. Due to career advancement and opportunities, many of the team have left the community and such a great service has collapsed. I came back from school after 4 years and found the association non existent. I have had some great conversations with some young people who support my idea of bringing the network into life and even if we could rethink how we can add more supportive components that can promote the community in diverse aspects. Community engagement in promotional activities is a good instrument to help a lot of young people to guide them. I am a living testimony of this and I want to give back to the community where I benefited and belong.

There is a lot of hardship in the country and so anything that will not put instant money in people’s pockets is mostly grossly opposed. Unlike in the past, it was a selfless act where a lot of graduates engaged in to do something beneficial just for reaching out to the hopeless and needy. I will start with just a few people and organize few activities that will raise awareness and also bring other stakeholders on board to help make our voices heard. It is going to be difficult but that is what I want to do.
