Yes! That is really who you are!

My name is Abdulbaset Algabry, a trainer specializing in empowering individuals and institutions in community development.
My journey began with a passion for supporting my community and developing youth skills, which led me to participate in leadership and social programs at both local and international levels.
Over the past years, I have conducted interactive training programs in various fields such as communication, peacebuilding, and technological awareness, establishing a network of connections with local and international organizations.
Among my notable achievements, I participated in a peacebuilding program funded by the U.S. State Department and earned a specialized certificate in public policy from the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies.
Along the way, I’ve faced challenges, like working on community projects with limited resources. But these moments taught me a lot about staying flexible and finding creative solutions.
Each challenge has helped me grow and reinforced my commitment to making a positive impact.
For me, this journey is not just a job; it is a way of life through which I strive to create sustainable positive change. Whether through my training sessions or my involvement in community events, I am committed to promoting a culture of peace and sustainability.
I believe everyone has a role to play in achieving these goals, and I dedicate my time and effort to making this vision a reality.

The strength I chose is problem-solving mindset.
A time I really leaned on this strength was during an environmental awareness project with a local community group.
We had almost no budget for workshops or materials and it felt like a huge obstacle at first.
Instead of letting that stop us I started brainstorming ways to make it work with what we had.
I found ways to use recycled paper for materials set up virtual workshops to save costs, and even reached out to local volunteers who were eager to help.
It wasn’t easy, but it showed everyone that you don’t need a big budget to make a difference.
This experience reminded me that being resourceful and flexible can go a long way in inspiring others to take action with the resources they have.

Yes, I’ve done a lot of volunteering, and one experience that stands out is my time with CARE International.
I was part of a project focused on environmental sanitation and disease prevention and my job was to help communities learn simple hygiene practices and understand how changes in the environment affect their health. It wasn’t always easy, but it was incredibly rewarding.
What I learned from this experience is that small actions really do add up.
Even just teaching basic hygiene can make a big difference in people’s lives. It also taught me how to communicate better and adjust my approach depending on who I’m talking to.
Volunteering showed me that real change often starts with small steps and it’s something I want to keep doing for my community.

If I were to lead a sustainability-related project, I would focus on empowering youth initiative members by providing them with targeted training on sustainable practices.
Through my connection with the National Network for Youth and Community Initiatives, I have the ability to coordinate with them to nominate initiatives for participation.
The network has committed to supporting the project by providing a free training venue and necessary training resources which makes it possible to conduct the sessions effectively.
The goal of this project is to create a network of youth ambassadors equipped with practical sustainability skills.
By empowering these young leaders we can inspire them to implement impactful initiatives within their communities creating a ripple effect.
Each trained participant would bring new ideas back to their community promoting wider adoption of sustainable practices.
I believe that with this support we can foster a generation of committed sustainability advocates ready to drive positive change.

Some challenges I think we might run into with this project are:
1. Getting participants to really see the importance of sustainability: Sometimes sustainability feels like a big vague concept, and not everyone immediately understands how it connects to their daily lives or projects.
To make it more relatable, I’d start with simple practical examples that tie into things they care about like reducing waste or improving community health.
2. Limited resources: Even though we have a free venue and training materials from the National Network for Youth Initiatives, we’ll probably still need extra support for things like refreshments promotion, or project supplies.
I’d plan to reach out to local businesses and organizations for sponsorships or donations showing them how this project can positively impact the community.
3. Keeping everyone committed: Young people can be really enthusiastic at first but life gets busy, and some might lose momentum.
To keep them engaged I’d give them a real sense of ownership, letting them be involved in parts of the planning and setting small achievable goals along the way.
Regular check-ins and feedback sessions can help keep everyone motivated and on track.
By planning for these challenges and having a flexible approach I’m confident we can make this project a success and create a lasting impact on the community.

The National Network for Youth and Community Initiatives and Harmony Development Foundation provide ongoing support as I am an active member in both organizations. The National Network has committed to offering a free training venue and essential materials like presentation equipment and participant supplies which will be available not only for this session but for any future projects as well. Harmony Development Foundation where I also hold a leadership role, will support the mini-training session with mentorship and guidance based on their experience in community development. Additionally, they will assist in promoting the session and help reach a larger audience in the community. This consistent support from both organizations strengthens my capacity to organize impactful sessions, as they are committed to empowering community initiatives long-term.
